Dee has led on development and passage of several significant updates to County code to better protect our heritage. She established the New Castle County historic marker program and founded the Brandywine Hundred Historical Society. And, is a passionate champion of our history and resources.
Upon being elected in 2018, Dee pushed for the Open Space Advisory Task Force and establishment of the County Open Space Advisory and Agricultural Advisory Boards, as well as annual funding in the budget for both open space and farmland preservation.

Dee co-founded and leads Plastic Free Delaware (aka Zero Waste First State) which works to reduce single-use plastic pollution and foster a culture of zero waste. Through PFD, Dee co-founded the annual YES! summit (Delaware Youth Environmental Summit).
Dee led establishment of the New Castle County Public Arts Commission which will oversee development and implementation of a plan for public art in the County, fostering the creative economy and tourism. County Executive Matt Meyer subsequently followed with an executive order to set aside
